I love dogs in general but especially Labradors. Looking back on both my personal and business life it seems to be all dogs all the time. I belonged to three Labrador Ret. clubs prior to coming to Venice (Hudson Valley, Southern Connecticut and Central Connecticut L.R. Clubs). I have enjoyed competing, as well as judging and stewarding, in many trials and matches. My dogs have won over 20 Titles in Novice through Utility, including Hunt Test and Water Dog trials. My husband and I rescued Labradors in Hudson Valley where we placed hundreds of Labs with their forever families. In Newtown, CT we ran a training and boarding kennel that could accommodate as many as 35 rescues and other dogs. We specialized in dogs that needed to be with people and to be with us as much as possible, both at home, playing chase the ball and splashing in the kiddie pools. It was a very busy but rewarding time. Things have calmed down for me now and it is relatively quiet with only 3 dogs at home. I say relatively because my female Lab, Spirit, definitely lives up to her name.
