K9 Etiquette (beginner)

This class is for puppies and adult dogs of any age. In class we cover problem behaviors students are facing at home such as potty training, jumping, nipping, etc. Training consists of teaching loose lead walking, crate training, grooming, enter/exiting doorways, greeting strangers, name recognition, focus skills, leave it, sit, down, stay, reliable recall, and more. These are key foundation skills all dogs should learn in order to coexist happily with their human family for years to come.

Foundation Skills (beginner)

This class is for adult dogs and puppies. This class is vital to training success in any area. Whether it's obedience, rally, agility or any other performance or working area you wish to pursue with your dog, this will be the class to start with. You will learn how to become a better trainer. You will learn about the different types of training techniques/methods that are available and find what works best for you and your dog. Example: clicker training. Utilizing the power of play and life resources you will learn how to build a motivated working dog. Class also covers focus skills, importance of acclamation, hand signals/verbal cues and so much more.

Basic Obedience I (beginner)

ObedEDITEDCLASSDogs must be at least 4 months old for this class. Behaviors covered in this class are: Attention, Sit, Down, Come, Heel, Stand, Loose Leash Walking, Sit for Petting, Wait, Leave It and Stay. Only positive reinforcement is used in this class.

Basic Obedience II w/ Canine Good Citizenship (CGC) option (intermediate)

ObedIIEDITEDCLASSDesigned to reward dogs who have good manners at home and in the community, this course prepares your dog to pass the CGC test and receive a title from the American Kennel Club. The Canine Good Citizen Program is a program that stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs. AKC reports that Homeowners insurance is available to breeds previously excluded if they have CGC certification.

Competitive Novice Obedience (intermediate)

This beginner competitive class prepares you and your dog for a Novice Obedience title. Exercises may include Heel on Leash and Figure Eight, Heel Free, Stand for Examination, Recall, Long Sit and Long Down.

Competitive Open/Utility Obedience (advanced)

This advanced class prepares you and your dog for both Open and Utility Obedience titles. It includes more complicated exercises which teach the dog to follow commands either by voice or signal. Open exercises include Heel Free and Figure Eight (off leash), Drop on Recall, Retrieve on Flat, Retrieve Over High Jump, Broad Jump, out of sight long sit and down. Students may need to obtain their own dumbbell properly sized for their dog. Utility exercises include heeling off leash, signal exercises, moving stand and examination, scent discrimination, directed jumping and directed retrieve. Students may need to obtain their own set of utility articles and gloves.

Unless otherwise noted, classes comprise of six weekly training sessions. You must be registered with us and logged on to sign up for a class. You can register with us at anytime at no cost. Registration for a class closes two days prior to its start date. You must pay the class fee by the first training session of the series to participate.
